Club Trips

Any member can organise a club climbing trip provided the committee considers them to be competent and experienced enough to do so. The committee delegates the approval and registration of club trips to the Trip Convenor.

By organising a trip you will be considered to be the trip leader. Before leading a trip, it is essential that you read and understand the SRC Risk Management Document. (Note: PDF file - requires Adobe Reader). When leading a trip you should comply with the recommendations in the document.

Only currently financial members can attend a SRC climbing trip. See our membership page for details on how to join the club.

When participating in a club climbing trip you are covered by the SRC's Personal Accident Insurance Policy, which provides limited no-fault compensation in the event of accidental injury. This policy does not cover public liability claims. The SRC does not have public liability insurance cover.

Also note that the wearing of helmets when climbing, belaying or adjacent above or below a cliff is mandatory on all club trips.

Be safe and enjoy your climbing!
