Crags Sydney | Blue Mountains | Southern Highlands | South Coast | Central Coast | Hunter Valley | North Coast | New England | Inland - North | Inland - South | ACT Arapiles - driving route from Sydney Arapiles - information from the Natimuk Bolting Fairies Note: where indicated, downloadable guides are Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files and require Adobe Reader. The Sydney area is covered by the SRC-funded on-line guide Sun, Surf and Sandstone. The site provides up to date details of most of the crags in the Sydney basin. It is updated frequently with the latest information as provided by Sydney climbers. The Blue Mountains covers many crags between Penrith and the Lithgow Area 140km west of Sydney. It will take 1.5-2 hours to drive to the Katoomba/Mt Victoria areas. Trains to Katoomba/Lithgow can be used to reach most major crags, although some will entail a 40-50min walk from the station. Guide books for this area include 'Blue Mountains Climbing 2007 Edition', from Onsight Publishing; and the SRC's 'Rockclimbs In the Upper Blue Mountains'. The latter book covers more crags but does not contain topographical drawings of climbs. Mt Alexandra, near Mittagong, although not strictly in Sydney, is covered in the in Sun, Surf and Sandstone.
Tim Haasnoot has prepared a number of updates to his Hunter Valley Guidebook covering the following areas:
