About Us
Since 1951 the Sydney Rockclimbing Club has been providing a strong support framework for members and the larger climbing community based in the greater Sydney area. Regular climbing trips are held for beginners as well as experienced members.
The club has an ongoing program of funding the rebolting of climbs where bolts have deteriorated.
The Sydney Rockclimbing Club is affiliated with the ACANSW who are the preeminent body advocating for climber access to crags in NSW. Rockies members are affiliate members of the ACANSW. The club regularly donates money to support ACANSW initiatives and pays an annual membership fee.
The club promotes safe climbing practices and crag stewardship. Members are encouraged to follow the Leave No Trace climber’s code of conduct and the club organises cultural heritage training and first aid courses.
More recently the Rockies have begun following the guidelines set out in the Australian Adventure Activity Standard with a Risk Management Plan created for each trip.
Come and join us to support your climbing community and enjoy some fun safe climbing.
