About Us

About Us

Since 1951 the Sydney Rockclimbing Club has been providing a strong support framework for members and the larger climbing community based in the greater Sydney area.

'Rockies' as members are known have been at the forefront of climbing development across the Blue Mountains and the Sydney crags. As the sport evolves, the SRC continues to support the many programs to ensure a healthy and dynamic space for beginners as well as experienced members.

Regular climbing trips are held for beginners as well as experienced members. These trips include the local Sydney crags, Blue Mountains, and linger trips such as Point Perpendicular, Booroomba, Arapiles, Frog Buttress etc.

The Club is affiliated with the ACANSW who are the preeminent body advocating for climber access to crags in NSW. Rockies members are affiliate members of the ACANSW. The club regularly donates money to support ACANSW initiatives and pays an annual membership fee.

Our Re-bolting Fund finances the replacement of old bolts on existing climbs and the maintenance of other hardware such as fixed ropes and anchors.

SRC's our extensive adventure library houses archival material going back to the beginnings of climbing in Australia - all available free to members.

SRC has negotiated significant discounts at many climbing gyms and retailers.

Come and join us to support your climbing community and enjoy some fun safe climbing.
